By Y.M. Lowy
A Monsey resident and longtime local business owner received major recognition this week on the national stage of the stone industry.
Hershel Margaretten, who lives in Monsey and owns Imperial Marble & Granite, was nominated for the 2025 Stone World Fabricator of the Year Award. The winner was announced Wednesday at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas during The International Surface Event, one of the industry’s largest annual expos.
The Fabricator of the Year Award is considered one of the highest honors in the stone industry, recognizing excellence in craftsmanship, use of advanced technology, and sustained business growth. Even being nominated places a company among the top fabricators in the country.
Imperial Marble & Granite has earned a strong reputation throughout the New York area. For a Monsey-based business to be recognized at this level marks a significant achievement.
