Massive Gas Leak Closes Off Main Street

The Monsey Fire Department and O&R are currently on the scene of a massive gas leak on Main Street.

A gas pipe on the construction site for The Shopper's Haven extension and parking garage was struck by an excavator, which caused the leak. The gas poses a potential security hazard and pedestrians are advised to use caution and avoid the area. 

Ramapo Police are on the scene and have blocked off Main Street between Grove Street and Orchard Street. The road is expected to be closed for several hours, and drivers are urged to use alternative routes.
