Local police departments, including the Clarkstown and Ramapo Police, are joining a nationwide "Click It Or Ticket" campaign to encourage seatbelt safety. 

During the campaign, which runs from May 19 through June 1st, officers will be enforcing seat belt compliance around the community during the day and night. 

"Seat belt use should be an automatic habit for drivers and passengers alike. It’s not just a safe thing to do — it’s the law," the Ramapo Police Department posted on social media.
