Jetblue Drops Several Local Flights

By Idy Perl
Jetblue has announced that they will be cutting some routes out of New York and Westchester County.
As part of Jetblue’s “JetForward” plan to bring the company
back to profitability, which it hasn’t been since before the pandemic, the
airline will be dropping several routes.
Among the dropped services are flights from Westchester
County Airport to Charleston, South Carolina, and New York to Austin, Houston, and
Miami. In addition, international flights such as from New York to London and
one daily flight from New York to Paris will be cut as well.
Jetblue’s CEO explained the changes with the following
statement:
As part of our JetForward strategic plan, JetBlue is
focused on building a network that best serves our customers and supports our
long-term success. Recently, we made some network adjustments in certain
markets, removing some underperforming flying from our schedule, allowing us to
redeploy resources, including our popular Mint service, toward high-demand
markets and new opportunities. In the coming weeks, we will announce how we
will redeploy this capacity, including into our European network, providing even
more travel options for our customers.
