Historic Milestone: Final Approval Granted for Kiryas Skver in Bethel
By Rockland Daily Staff
After years of planning, construction, legal hurdles, and extensive permitting, the long-awaited new Skverer shtetl in Upstate New York has reached a historic milestone: the final Certificate of Occupancy has officially been granted, clearing the way for residents to move in.
Residents were informed of the major development through a special phone call announcing that families will begin moving into the newly built homes in the coming months, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Skverer community.
The project, which required years of work, including complex approvals, infrastructure development, and numerous permits, is now ready to welcome its first residents. The newly built homes and community facilities are prepared to receive the hundreds of chassidim who are expected to settle there.
For many in the Skverer chassidus, the moment represents far more than a housing development. It marks the establishment of a new center of Torah and chassidus, continuing the historic growth of chassidic communities and neighborhoods in America.
