Town of Haverstraw Supervisor Howard Phillips Jr. has won reelection following Tuesday's general election, securing another term leading the town he has served for nearly 25 years.

Phillips, a Democrat who also appeared on the Conservative Party line, ran unopposed in this year's election, allowing him to continue his longtime leadership of Haverstraw.

Phillips has served as Town Supervisor since January 2002, making him one of Rockland County's longest-serving town supervisors. Before taking office, he served in the Rockland County Legislature, where he held the position of Vice Chairman, and previously worked as Haverstraw's Director of Finance.

Throughout his years in office, Phillips has overseen numerous municipal improvements, including upgrades to town parks, recreational facilities, infrastructure, and public services. His administration has also secured millions of dollars in government grants and other funding for projects benefiting local residents.

Phillips has remained actively involved in countywide affairs, including work related to waste management, sewer infrastructure, and other regional services. His extensive experience in local government has made him a familiar figure throughout Rockland County.

With his reelection, Phillips will begin another two-year term in January 2027, continuing to oversee town operations and municipal services for the residents of Haverstraw.
