Grove Street to Shut During Daytime Hours as Veolia Restarts Work Monday
By Y.M. Lowy
Work is set to resume on Grove Street this Monday, April 27, as Veolia returns to continue infrastructure improvements.
According to Town of Ramapo Highway Superintendent Fred Brinn, the decision to restart work now is aimed at accelerating progress and bringing the project to completion. “We’re looking to move the project along more quickly and get it finished as efficiently as possible,” Brinn said.
Crews will be working along Grove Street from Treetop Lane up to the water tower, with the work expected to take about one week.
As with previous phases, Grove Street will be closed during active work hours. However, the road will reopen overnight once crews finish for the day, allowing traffic to pass through until work resumes the next morning. There will be no work taking place on Fridays. During the closure, buses will use Treetop Lane for turnarounds.
Once this phase is completed, along with ongoing sidewalk and turning lane improvements, the highway department is planning to pave the entire stretch of Grove Street.
A detour plan map is attached to help drivers navigate the area during the closure.
