EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Monsey Boy Speaks With Rockland Daily About Harrowing Beach Ordeal

A group of bachurim from Monsey were miraculously rescued from the ferocious waves of a Deal beach earlier this week. 

One of the boys spoke with Rockland Daily about his harrowing ordeal. He described the way he and three others fought the waves with all their might to no avail. 

As the rip currents pushed them further out to sea, the boys called out to their friends for help but they thought at first that their friends were pranking them, he related. 

Eventually, a Yid from deal who was on a walk with his wife ran in to save the boys, and called Hatzolah, which was soon on the scene, along with EMS and other rescue services. 

The boys were exhausted, but otherwise in safe condition, and soon returned to their yeshiva. 

They celebrated the great miracle on Shabbos parashas Nitzvavim with a festive Kiddush in their yeshiva after they recited the brachah of Hagomel, giving thanks to Hashem for the great miracle that He performed for them, and looking ahead to a new year of growth and blessing.
