Eligible Families to Receive an Estimated $10 Million for Summer P-EBT

This summer, families across New York will be sharing $1.1 billion from the Summer P-EBT Program funded by the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) COVID-19 at a rate of $391 per eligible child.

This means millions for Rockland yeshiva families and local grocery stores, according to the BPJCC, which shared the news with Rockland Daily.

"We are delighted to be able to share this very welcome news," Avi Greenstein, BPJCC CEO tells Rockland Daily. "For many families, this will really make a tremendous difference to their summer."

Funds are already in the process of being distributed to the hundreds of thousands of families struggling to make ends meet. All Summer 2022 P-EBT food benefits of $391 will be issued automatically to K-12 students enrolled in an NSLP-participating school in June 2022 and eligible to receive free or reduced-price school meals; and children under six years old as of September 1, 2021, who received SNAP on an NYS SNAP case for June, July or August 2022.

Students who attend nonpublic schools that operate federally funded school free breakfast/lunch programs are also eligible to receive the $391 for Summer P-EBT.

NYS-OTDA is not alerting families that their P-EBT card was just replenished with $391 per eligible child. To check your P-EBT account to see how much money is left click here.
