East Ramapo School District to Address Lead in Drinking Water in Schools Throughout District

by Mindy Cohn

The East Ramapo Central School District announced that new water fountains will be installed by the 2024-2025 school year after several schools have not had working water fountains since 2016 due to lead contamination.

"The District has been working with our architects, engineers, and consultants to address these issues on an ongoing basis," Superintendent Clarence Ellis said in a statement.

In the meantime, schools within the district have been providing bottled water dispensers and bottled water.
