Contract With Renewable Electricity Supplier For Nanuet Ends
By Idy Perl
The Village of Nyack released a statement regarding the recent
notice that many residents got about the Community Choice Aggregation utilities program.
For the last 18 months the Village of Nyack together with 5 other villages and towns that are a part of Rockland Community Power, a Community Choice Aggregation program, have offered renewable electricity supply for eligible O&R customers. The current contract with the renewable electricity supplier, Constellation, is coming to an end at the end of September.
Due to the current market Nyack was unable to come to a new
agreement with the supplier and is currently reviewing bids with other
companies to find one that can provide the renewable electricity at an affordable
rate. In the meantime, residents who are a part of the program will
automatically be moved back to O&R for their electrical supply. Those customers
will receive a notice with the exact information.

participation, contact the Rockland Community Power program helpline,
