Clarkstown Police Investigate Early Morning Assault at Palisades Center

On Thursday, October 16, 2025, at approximately 1:35 a.m., officers from the Clarkstown Police Department responded to the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack for a report of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim who reported that he had been assaulted shortly after exiting a Hudson Link bus in the mall’s J parking lot. The victim stated that he had been traveling from Westchester to the Palisades Center and had exited the bus alongside three unidentified males.

According to the victim, the individuals initially asked him for directions but then suddenly began physically assaulting him, punching him repeatedly. One of the suspects reportedly produced what appeared to be a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times in the head and leg. Prior to fleeing the scene, the suspects also forcibly took the victim’s cell phone and an undisclosed amount of money from his pockets. The victim managed to walk into the mall, where he was able to locate a security officer, who immediately contacted 911.

The suspects were described as three light-skinned males, believed to be in their late teens to early 20s. One of the suspects was reportedly wearing an orange hoodie.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by the Congers-Valley Cottage Volunteer Ambulance Corps, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, the facts known to detectives do not indicate an ongoing threat to the public.
