The Clarkstown Police Department hosted their annual awards ceremony on Saturday to recognize the dedication, bravery, and service of their officers, as well as the contributions of local civilians. 

Chief Wanamaker presented several awards to officers of the department in honor of heroic actions, life-saving interventions, and significant efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. The chief also awarded special commendations to four civilians who stepped in during critical moments to assist their community. 

During the ceremony, several exceptional students were awarded scholarships that were established in honor of Chief G. Robert Schnakenberg and Detective Sergeant James J. Doyle to celebrate academic excellence, leadership, and the potential of the next generation.
