Chestnut Ridge to Receive Additional Snow-Removal Resources Following Meeting With Ramapo Highway Officials
By Rockland Daily Staff
Trustees Shmuli Fromovitz and Chaim Rose recently met with Ramapo Highway Superintendent Fred Brinn and members of his department to discuss winter preparedness and roadway improvements in the Village of Chestnut Ridge.
Following the meeting, officials announced that the Highway Department will be allocating additional resources to the Village for the upcoming winter season. Chestnut Ridge, which includes 33 miles of roadway, will now receive support from four dedicated snow-plow trucks, a significant increase aimed at improving snow-removal response times and overall road safety.
Village representatives said they are hopeful the expanded fleet will lead to noticeable improvements during snow events, helping residents travel more safely and reliably.
The discussion also covered drainage challenges and stop-sign improvements throughout the Village, with both sides reporting meaningful progress and a commitment to continued collaboration.
Officials expressed appreciation for the cooperative effort, noting the shared goal of ensuring that Chestnut Ridge roads remain safe and well-maintained throughout the winter months.
