Champlain Hudson Power Express Project Resumes On Route 9W

On or about this Friday, August 1st, roadwork will resume along Route 9W from Congers to Stony Point as part of New York State's Champlain Hudson Power Express (CHPE) project.

In an effort to minimize traffic disruptions, most of the work will be done overnight from 7:00pm to 5:00am, Monday through Friday, though some of the work will be taking place during the day. The work is anticipated to last through November.

The CHPE project involves the construction of a transmission line spanning 339 miles, mostly running underground & underwater, to deliver clean hydroelectric power from Quebec, Canada to New York City.
