YS GOLD
We regret to inform you of the passing of Rebbetzin Shulamis Schiff, one of the earliest residents of the Monsey community. She was 98 years of age.
The nifteres was the youngest daughter of Rav Shraga Feivel Mendlowitz, the great pioneer of Torah chinuch in America, and she came out to live in Monsey when her great father founded the Aish Dos program and Beis Medrash Elyon in 1943.
She married Rav Shia Schiff, zt"l, who founded Mesivta Beis Shraga in the name of Rav Shraga Feivel, and stood at his right hand throughout the decades.
The Rebbetzin was a fountain of chizuk and guidance to countless people who streamed to her door, and was a role model of authentic Yiddishkeit and closeness to Hashem.
She passed away on Friday afternoon leaving behind an incredible legacy of Torah and Yiras Shomayim, and generations of bnei and bnos Torah who follow in her ways.
The levaya will take place on Sunday morning in Beis Shraga at 11:00 AM
Yehi zichra baruch.
