BDE: Mrs. Leah Rieder, a"h

It is with profound sorrow that Rockland Daily announces the petirah of Mrs. Leah Rieder a”h, a cherished wife and mother and longtime Monsey resident. She passed away at the age of 68 following an extended illness, leaving behind a legacy of quiet resilience, deep emunah, and complete devotion to her family.
Mrs. Rieder was the daughter of Reb Aaron, and tbl"ch, Mrs. Malya Wendel, and the esteemed wife and partner of Reb Shmuel Yosef Rieder, a senior board member of Agudath Israel of America and noted philanthropist.
As an eishes chayil, she stood firmly beside her husband, offering constant encouragement in his communal work and involvement in tzorchei tzibbur. With dedication and selflessness, she played a vital role behind the scenes, enabling his contributions to Klal Yisroel.
Her greatest pride and focus, however, was her family. As a mother, she poured herself into raising her children with warmth, patience, and strong Torah values, instilling in them a deep sense of yiras Shamayim. Her home radiated care and attentiveness, reflecting her constant thought and effort.
Those privileged to know her recall her gentle kindness and genuine concern for others. She was a compassionate listener and a steady source of support, whose sensitivity and inner refinement brought comfort and strength to many.
The nifteres was known to cherish and honor the holy Shabbos, and would would wait the entire week for Shabbos. She returned her purified neshamah to its Maker in the midst of the holy day.
Following a levaya at the El Al hangar in JFK at 12:00 on Sunday, her aron will be flown to Eretz Yisroel for kevurah on Har Hamenuchos.
