Attemped Robbery On West Central Avenue; Suspect On The Run

At around 12:30 this afternoon a woman was robbed and assaulted on West Central Avenue and S Cole Avenue in Spring Valley in a strong-armed robbery. 

According to witnesses the suspect pushed the woman and grabbed her purse before attempting to run off. The woman ran after him, which made him drop the bag, and he then fled the scene. 

Spring Valley Police, Rockland County Sherrif K-9 units, and Rockland County BCI responded to the scene and started canvassing the area to try and locate the suspect.

An active investigation is underway, and residents in the area are urged to be on alert until the suspect is found. Rockland Daily will provide updates as they are available.
