Assemblyman Wieder Helps Rockland Residents Apply for Winter Heating Assistance

By Y.M. Lowy

As winter sets in, Rockland County residents struggling with heating costs now have an easier way to get help. The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is accepting applications online at myBenefits.ny.gov or in person at the Rockland County Department of Social Services, Building L, 50 Sanatorium Road in Pomona.

For support with applications or emergency heating needs, residents can call the HEAP office at 845-364-3100. Those needing assistance with district-related matters can reach out directly to Assemblyman Wieder’s office at 845-624-4601. The office will help you with any questions.

The program helps households cover AC during the summer and heating expenses during the colder months, giving residents relief from the outside elements.
