Assemblyman Aron Wieder has won reelection to the New York State Assembly, securing a second term representing the 97th Assembly District in Rockland County following Tuesday’s general election.

Reb Aron Bentzion Wieder, a longtime askan and prominent community leader in Monsey, has spent many years serving the needs of local residents and advocating on behalf of the community. Before entering the State Assembly, he served for more than 13 years in the Rockland County Legislature, becoming a familiar and respected figure in local government. During his tenure, he held several leadership positions, including Majority Leader and Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, before stepping down in February 2025 to focus on his work in Albany.

First elected to the State Assembly in November 2024, Wieder brought his years of experience in county government to the state level, focusing on property tax relief, public safety, infrastructure improvements, and securing additional state funding for local communities. He has also continued working closely with local officials and community leaders to address the needs of Rockland County’s growing population. His longstanding involvement in community service has made him a well-known address for residents seeking assistance with all government-related matters.

Wieder’s reelection gives him another two years to build on his work in Albany while continuing the public service that began long before his election to the State Assembly.

He will begin his second term in January 2027, continuing to represent the 97th Assembly District, which includes Monsey, Spring Valley, Chestnut Ridge and surrounding Rockland County communities.
