Assemblyman Aron Wieder Honors Rockland County Law Enforcement on National First Responders Day

In recognition of National First Responders Day, observed annually on October 28th, Assemblyman Aron Wieder led a district-wide effort to present official citations to every law enforcement agency in his district, honoring their dedication and service to the community.

Assemblyman Wieder personally visited the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police Haverstraw Barracks to deliver the citations and express his gratitude in person.

Meanwhile, his staff members ensured full coverage across the district: Blaise Gillbride presented citations to the Orangetown Police Department, and Jerusalem Esther Ramirez visited the Ramapo Police Department, Spring Valley Police Department, and Piermont Police Department.

The coordinated visits guaranteed that every police agency within the district received formal recognition from the New York State Assembly.

“I was proud to personally honor the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police, and I’m grateful to my team for ensuring every department was recognized,” Assemblyman Wieder said. “Every police officer, dispatcher, firefighter, and EMT in Rockland County deserves recognition for their tireless efforts to keep our community safe.”

The citations highlight the bravery, professionalism, and daily sacrifices made by first responders in the line of duty.

Assemblyman Wieder’s initiative reflects a commitment to supporting law enforcement and fostering stronger community ties. National First Responders Day serves as an important opportunity to acknowledge the risks these public servants face and the vital role they play in public safety.
