Westchester Airport Fares Dropped More Than Any Other State According to New Report
By Chana Weinman
Westchester County Airport prices have dropped the most of any U.S. airport, according to a newly released report on "The U.S. States and Airports with the Cheapest and Most Expensive Domestic Flights" from the NetCredit blog.
A decrease of an average of $58.18 was reported for the airport between 2022 and 2023, while traffic at the airport grew by 67.5 percent.
The report's metric calculated the average domestic fare by hours worked at the average state wage, thereby concluding that air travel prices have fallen in 44 states when compared to last year's report, with Westchester Airport coming out ahead with the most reductions.
"The general fall in prices is not so much an abundance of cheap flights," NetCredit states in the report, "as a return to normalcy after the high costs of air travel in 2021 and 2022."
