Weekend Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry Service Returning May 23

The MTA announced that weekend service on the Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will return beginning Saturday, May 23, offering hourly trips across the Hudson River through October 31.

The seasonal service, now entering its third year, will operate weekends between Haverstraw and Ossining with ferries timed to connect with Metro-North Hudson Line trains traveling to and from New York City. Ferries will run hourly between 11:23 a.m. and 9:10 p.m.

Rockland County Executive Ed Day said the return of the ferry helps bring visitors into Rockland while giving residents easier access across the Hudson River. Officials also highlighted the free TOR Weekend Ferry Connection bus, which meets ferry arrivals and departures and brings riders to destinations including Haverstraw Village, Nyack, Rockland Lake State Park, Garner Arts Center, and Palisades Center.

According to the MTA, ridership continued growing during the ferry’s first two seasons, with the service reaching a record 822 riders on one weekend day last July.

An adult one-way ferry ticket costs $4.75, while seniors, people with disabilities, Medicare recipients, and children ages 6 through 11 pay $2.50. Children 5 and under ride free.
