The Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services department is warning local residents about some strong winds that are expected to blow through the area today.

Southwest winds ranging from 30-40 mph are expected to continue statewide on Tuesday, with gusts potentially reaching up to 60 mph. 

Residents should prepare for possible scattered power outages and should secure loose outdoor items .
