Village of Nyack Backs Plan to Bring Train Service Back to Hudson Valley

By Y.M. Lowy

A major step forward was taken this week in the push to bring passenger rail service back to the west side of the Hudson River.

The Village of Nyack Board has officially adopted a resolution supporting the West Shore Passenger Rail feasibility study, becoming the 10th municipality in the Hudson Valley to join the growing coalition.

Expanded rail service will help reduce traffic congestion, improve travel options, and strengthen the local economy by making the area more accessible.

Each additional municipality that signs on adds weight to the effort, helping build a stronger case for state support and moving the project closer to becoming a reality.
