Update: Shots Fired on East Eckerson Road Leads to Attempted Murder Arrests

The Ramapo Police Department has announced the arrests of two suspects in connection with a shooting incident on East Eckerson Road, Town of Ramapo, earlier this week.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on Monday, November 25, 2024, at approximately 12:22 a.m., when officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arriving, investigators recovered evidence indicating that at least nine shots were fired from a moving vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

Through ongoing investigations, two male suspects were taken into custody later the same day. The individuals, aged 22 and 19, hail from Yonkers and Newburgh, NY, respectively. Both suspects face multiple charges, including Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the First Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, and Conspiracy in the Second Degree. The suspects were arraigned in the Town of Ramapo Court, and the investigation remains active.

The Ramapo Police Department has been assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff's Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation in this case.
