Just one year ago, Monsey residents celebrated the opening of the new Kosher Hive supermarket.

Rockland Daily had the opportunity to tour the location before its opening, sharing an inside look and the good news with the residents looking out for the grand opening.

Unfortunately, the supermarket faced severe financial difficulties from the start, which worsened over time. Despite recent rumors on social media, Kosher Hive managed to keep its doors open until today. Now it is official: the supermarket is closing its doors effective immediately.

In recent days, The Hive held a huge sale to clear out their remaining products, and this morning the store's doors remained closed.

Rumors indicate that another local supermarket is in talks to take over the Hive. More details to follow.
