Two Candidates from the Community Running for Spring Valley Trustee

Yakov Y Kaufman, a longtime Spring Valley resident and member of Chaverim, recently announced that he will be running for Spring Valley Trustee to fill Trustee Asher Grossman’s seat.

After three terms of serving the Village, Spring Valley Trustee Asher Grossman announced in February his intentions not to seek re-election.

Grossman served as a Spring Valley Trustee for 12 years and has played a key role in many initiatives and improvements that have been made in Spring Valley during the last few years. In a letter he penned to his constituents, Grossman said that he is proud of the work he has done and expressed appreciation to his colleagues and to the Spring Valley residents for their trust and support.

Yakov Y  Kaufman is now running to replace Grossman’s seat and is excited for the opportunity to do more for the community.

“There’s a lot that we can do to improve our village, and I am committed to doing everything that I can to advocate for Spring Valley residents,”  Kaufman tells Rockland Daily.

Also, running for reelection as trustee is R’ Yosef Hersh Gross, a longtime public servant, who is running for his third term as Spring Valley trusty.

Gross welcomed Mr. Kaufmans candidacy, and told RocklandDaily that he looks forward to his election and to working alongside him to better the futures of Spring Valley residents.

They will be working alongside Schenely Vital, former Rockland County Democratic Commissioner, should he win the office of Spring Valley Mayor.
