Town of Ramapo to Host First-Ever Menorah Lighting at Town Hall
By YS GOLD
The Town of Ramapo will hold its first-ever public menorah lighting in front of the Ramapo Town Hall this Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m., marking a historic moment for the town and its Jewish residents.
The event is being organized as a way to engage with community leaders and celebrate Chanukah together with the town’s growing Jewish community. Town officials say the lighting symbolizes unity, religious freedom, and the shared values that bring Ramapo’s diverse residents together.
To ensure the safety and security of all attendees, the Ramapo Police Department will maintain a visible presence throughout the event, allowing families and community members to gather comfortably and enjoy the significance of the holiday.
Residents are encouraged to attend and take part in this special celebration as Ramapo shines a public light in honor of Chanukah for the first time.
Supervisor Michael Specht told Rockland Daily: “We are excited to host our first menorah lighting at Town Hall on the last night of Chanukah. We welcome everyone to join us for a festive celebration as we llight the beautiful and unique Infinity menorah, thanks to Chabad of Suffern.”
