Town of Ramapo Revitalizes Suzanne Lake

Town of Ramapo Revitalizes Suzanne Lake

Ramapo Department of Public Works recruited a group of over 35 volunteers to help clean the Suzanne Lake of all the garbage it collected over the winter months.

Several different departments including Ramapo Litter Control, Keep Rockland Beautiful, County Conservation Core, and Chaverim of Rockland joined in this effort to maintain the environment.

“The plan is to make this lake the most beautiful spot in Monsey as it has been in the past,” Supervisor Michael Specht shared with Rockland Daily.

“We’re very grateful and proud of all the volunteers and town employees who came out today, rolled up their sleeves, and worked hard to get this done.”

Although this is a cleanup that is done annually, Specht told Rockland Daily that this is the biggest one yet.

Besides loads of trash that were removed, the town is also working on improving the quality of the lake.

“In addition, we are planning a community meeting in which all residents will have the opportunity to share what projects they’d like for the town to work on next,” Specht finished off.
