by M.C. Millman

After more than twenty years of serving the community, Sylvan Klein, the Town of Ramapo planning board chairman, retired from public service last night.

"I have mixed emotions about the retirement of the chairman,"  Sruly Eisenbach, Trustee for Village of Spring Valley and Vice Chair of the Planning Board, shares with Rockland Daily. "While serving on the board together with Mr. Klein for over a decade, I can honestly say I have learned a lot from him, and I consider him my mentor. He will surely be missed. I wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors and that he should enjoy his retirement in good health,"

"Sylvain Klein announced his retirement last night after serving as Planning Board Chairman for almost 22 years," Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht shares with Rockland Daily. "Chairman Klein led the Planning Board meetings in an open, thoughtful, balanced, and professional manner. At last night's meeting, I presented him with a Certificate of Merit in appreciation of his dedication and service to the people of Ramapo. We will miss him and wish him a very happy retirement."
