TOR Introduces new Buses to Fleet
By: Yitzy Fried
A total of 20 brand new buses will enter the Transport of Rockland (TOR) fleet by this summer.
TOR runs service along major routes in Rockland County, as well as connections to transit systems in the surrounding counties, and transports millions of rides every year. Monsey residents will recognize the buses from their journeys up and down Route 59.
Twelve buses are in the process of becoming operational in these days, with another eight due by summer.
The buses cost about $11 million, and are given to TOR courtesy of federal and state transportation department grants.
They include many modern features which will make the rides more convenient than ever for riders of TOR.
