Temporary Traffic Light Installed at Morris Road and Union Road
By Y.M. Lowy
A temporary traffic light is being installed at the intersection of Morris Road and Union Road, replacing the existing stop sign for the time being.
The light is being installed now, by the Village of Spring Valley, while the work needed to get the system fully operational will continue behind the scenes. This includes installing and connecting the equipment and computer system that will control the light.
The temporary light is being put in place as work continues toward installing a permanent traffic light at Twin Avenue and Union Road, a project funded with the help of Congressman Mike Lawler.
Once the Twin Avenue and Union Road light is installed and operational, the temporary setup at Morris Road and Union Road will no longer be needed.
The project was mainly made with the efforts of Deputy Mayor Yisroel Eisenbach, and the help of Village of Spring Valley Trustees advance the much-needed traffic improvements.
