By Rockland Daily staff

A chaotic scene unfolded at the BMW dealership on Route 59 in Spring Valley when a suspected drunk driver plowed through a guardrail and collided with multiple parked cars.

The incident occurred late Wednesday night, and drew a swift response from the Spring Valley Police Department, who arrested the driver on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The crash caused significant damage to the dealership’s property, with several vehicles impacted.

According to witnesses who spoke to Rockland Daily, the driver was not alone during the incident. A female passenger was reportedly involved in a heated altercation with the driver prior to the crash. During the dispute, she allegedly bit the driver’s hand before fleeing the scene and attempting to hide under a car at the dealership. Her attempt to evade authorities was short-lived, as police later found and took her into custody.

The Spring Valley Fire Department and Spring Hill EMS also responded to the scene to assist with the situation and ensure no serious injuries were reported. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the driver or the passenger, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
