Suspect in Accident on Garden Terrace Attempts to Flee, Arrested After Short Chase

A suspect in a vehicle accident at the corner of Garden Terrace and Viola Road attempted to flee the scene but was spotted nearby before being arrested by Ramapo Police.

The accident happened around 10:30 pm and caused minor injuries. Hatzalah and Ramapo Police responded to the incident.

As soon as police arrived the suspect, described as a male wearing all black, fled the scene and jumped over a gate behind 33 Garden Terrace to Zabriskie Terrace. Police followed the footsteps and a blood trail from the suspect.

A Chavivim volunteer who was at the scene spotted the suspect and notified Police. After a small pursuit behind a few other backyards, and using a BolaWrap, the suspect was arrested down the block shortly thereafter.
