Suffern Fire Department Marks Leadership Transition at Annual Meeting

The Suffern Fire Department is set to hold its annual department meeting this evening, where new officers will be sworn in and outgoing Chief Vincent “Vinny” Mastrullo will conclude his term as Chief of Department.

Mastrullo’s leadership journey within the department has spanned several years. He joined the chief ranks as Battalion Chief in 2020, was promoted to Assistant Chief in 2023, and went on to serve as Chief of Department in 2024.

During his tenure, Mastrullo focused on advancing the department’s capabilities and strengthening service to the community. Among his most notable efforts was working closely with the Village Board to secure approval for the purchase of a new Tower Ladder for the Suffern Hook & Ladder Company No. 1, which is currently on order.

Department members credit Mastrullo’s leadership and commitment with helping set a strong foundation for continued success.

As the department prepares to welcome new leadership, members of the Suffern Hook & Ladder Company No. 1 expressed their appreciation for Mastrullo’s years of dedicated service, recognizing his contributions and the impact of his work on the department and the community.
