Suffern Fire Department Drills Includes Valuable Hands-On Practice

Rockland Daily Staff
The Suffern Fire Department has been performing a series of Monday night drills, including hands-on training inside the former Novartis building.
Firefighters have practiced various skills, including stretching and advancing hose lines, forcible entry on inward and outward swinging doors, forcible entry on overhead roll-up doors, elevator rescues, vertical ventilation, wall breaches, and overhaul.
Hands-on training in acquired structures is extremely valuable as it allows firefighters to get the most realistic training possible.
