Storm Passes Through Rockland

By Idy Perl
A storm passed through Rockland last night, and although it didn’t last very long, it managed to leave significant damage.
Approximately 32,000 homes in the area lost power last night due to fallen power lines. O&R worked through the night to get power back up, and at 6AM this morning only 7,000 homes were still without power in Orange and Rockland counties.
Fallen trees and power lines blocked roads and caused accidents last night as well. One Clarkstown police officer on the way to a call in Congers had a tree fall on his vehicle. The police car was damaged, but the officer got out without injuries.
