Spring Valley Village Board Approves Union Road Repaving

By Idy Perl
At the Tuesday night board meeting, the Spring Valley Village Board passed a resolution to repave the entire Union Road.
Union Road, which stretches for around two miles and is a main road in Spring Valley, has been deteriorating for quite some time. Thousands of drivers who use the road daily are forced to navigate between large potholes as they travel on the road. Previous efforts to repave Union Road were all eventually canceled due to financial constraints and ongoing projects from utility companies.
The new resolution, which was introduced by Trustee Yisroel Eisenbach, approves milling and repaving on Union Road between Maple Avenue and Viola Road, including North Myrtle Avenue, the short one-way road near the gas station at the corner of Maple Avenue. Grants were located to fund 95-98% of the project, ensuring that it will get completed.
The project is expected to begin in the next few months.
