Spring Valley Man Sentenced Following Murder Trial

By Rockland Daily Staff
Oscar Garcia-Garcia, 30, of Spring Valley, was sentenced today
to 25 years to life in State Prison by the Honorable Kevin F. Russo of the
Rockland County Court, following his murder conviction after a three-week jury
trial in March.
On December 28, 2022, the defendant was in a bar in Spring
Valley and came in contact with the deceased, Luis Pinduisaca-Villa, 54. Garcia-Garcia
waited until he left and followed Luis Pinduisaca home and then stabbed him in
his throat with a large kitchen knife at around 1am on December 29. The
victim’s body was subsequently discovered lying in the middle of the road a
short time after the stabbing occurred and law enforcement were notified.
The Spring Valley Police Department quickly began
investigating the case and collecting evidence with the assistance of the
Rockland County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Blood
evidence, articles of clothing, and a large kitchen knife were all recovered
from the area where the body had been located. On December 29, 2022,
Garcia-Garcia was interviewed by detectives and admitted to stabbing the victim
and was subsequently arrested.
