Spring Valley Man Convicted On Second-Degree Murder Charge Following Jury Trial

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh, II. announced yesterday the conviction of Oscar Garcia-Garcia of Spring Valley, NY, on Murder in the Second Degree by a Rockland County Jury relating to an incident that occurred on December 29, 2022.

The evidence established that Garcia-Garcia stabbed the victim, Luis Pindiusaca-Villa, in the throat with a kitchen knife outside of a bar in the Village of Spring Valley just before 1 am of December 29th. The Village of Spring Valley Police Department responded to the area a short time later and Garcia-Garcia was arrested later that afternoon. Luis Pinduisaca-Villa was 54-years old at the time of the incident.

Garcia-Garcia was charged along with a co-defendant, Eustaquio Diaz-Gutierrez. DiazGutierrez elected for a trial by judge, rather than jury. Both trials occurred simultaneously and were presided over by Judge Kevin F. Russo. Judge Russo also rendered a verdict finding the co-defendant guilty of Assault in the Third Degree, a Class A misdemeanor on March 14, 2025. “The defendant in this case was convicted by a jury of twelve of his peers for Murder in the Second Degree. He engaged in a horrific act of brutality that resulted in the death of the victim. I would like to commend First Assistant District Attorney Kathleen Devlin for obtaining the conviction in this case. The defendant is now facing a lengthy prison term for his actions on December 29, 2022.” said District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II.
