Spring Valley Aquires Blacktop Hot Box
By Idy Perl
The Village of Spring Valley has acquired a blacktop hot box, a specialized piece of equipment that will assist the village with pavement projects throughout the year.
A hot box is a special, insulated container that is used to transport hot asphalt at the optimal temperature so that the asphalt is usable and doesn't harden due to outdoor temperatures. The Village purchased the new hot box with federal grant money.
"This is great news for the Village of Spring Valley," Deputy Mayor of Spring Valley Yosef Hersh Gross said. "Now, the DPW will be able to continue their great work and go out to do blacktop work in the winter and summer. "
