Speaker Johnson Spends Pleasant Afternoon in Skver, Discusses Possible Meeting With President Trump
By YS GOLD
This afternoon, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson visited the chambers of the Skverer Rebbe in New Square where a variety of issues were discussed.
The visit took place after the Speaker attended a fundraiser for Representative Mike Lawler in nearby Stony Point.
The speaker and the Rebbe are no strangers—this is the third meeting between the two, and their relationship is extremely cordial.
Among the matters discussed at the meeting were the chinuch decree in New York, and other matters important to the Jewish community in New York.
A notable and newsworthy takeaway was an announcement by Congressman Mike Lawler that he was working toward a meeting between the Rebbe and President Trump in the coming months.
