Senator Weber Praises Yeshiva Beer Yeshaya Students and Staff for Excellence in Leadership and Civic Engagement
At the invitation of Rabbi Twersky, Menahel, and Mr. Pincus, Secular Studies Principal, Senator Bill Weber had the privilege of visiting Yeshiva Beer Yeshaya to witness the excitement of the student elections. Each grade fielded representatives running for school president, presenting their unique platforms to their peers. Every student exercised their right to vote, resulting in Shmily Goldenberg, an 8th grader, being elected as school president.
Senator Weber emphasized the importance of civic engagement and congratulated the candidates for their hard work and the school for fostering such an enriching experience. He remarked that the public speaking and debating skills the students developed through the election process would serve them well throughout their lives.
He also praised Yeshiva Beer Yeshaya for its strong emphasis on secular studies and its commitment to teaching civic engagement, equipping students with valuable life skills and a deep understanding of leadership.
The visit concluded with Senator Weber extending a warm invitation to the entire school to visit the New York State Capitol in Albany, offering the students a firsthand experience of government in action.
