Senator Weber and Assemblyman Brabenec Deliver $125,000 for Playground and Sidewalk Improvements in Wesley Hills

WESLEY HILLS, NY — New York State Senator Bill Weber and Assemblyman Karl Brabenec announced a combined $125,000 in state funding for two important community improvement projects in the Village of Wesley Hills, including $75,000 for new playground equipment at Greg Sikorsky Children's Park and $50,000 for sidewalk construction along Wilder Road.

Joining the Senator and Assemblyman for the funding announcement were Wesley Hills Mayor Marshall Katz, Village Trustees Yisroel Cherns, Tova Krull, and Joseph Mause, and Village Clerk Camille Guido.

“The Village of Wesley Hills would like to thank Senator Bill Weber for securing a $75,000 grant which will be used towards a significant upgrade of the Greg Sikorsky Park,” said Wesley Hills Village Mayor Marshall Katz.” The project is anticipated to be completed before the end of the year.

“One of my priorities as State Senator is making sure we are doing everything we can to support families, especially our children, while protecting local taxpayers,” said Senator Weber. “I am proud to have secured $75,000 for new playground equipment at Greg Sikorsky Children's Park. By bringing our hard-earned tax dollars back from Albany and investing them right here in Wesley Hills, we can help make these important improvements while reducing the financial burden on local taxpayers.”

An additional $50,000 grant secured by Assemblyman Brabenec will support the construction of a sidewalk along Wilder Road, extending from the intersection with Lime Kiln Road to Timber Trail.  The sidewalk project will also receive $400,000 in federal funding secured by Congressman Mike Lawler, along with additional Village funds.

The Village is currently pursuing additional funding and other measures to extend the sidewalk to Route 202, with the possibility of eventually connecting it to Prosperity Road.
