Hundreds of seniors from across Rockland County gathered at Rockland Community College on Wednesday for State Senator Bill Weber’s fourth annual Senior Fair, which brought together elected officials, community leaders, askanim, law enforcement representatives, and dozens of organizations for a day dedicated to supporting the county’s senior population.
The event, held at the Eugene Levy Fieldhouse located at the RCC in Suffern, featured 179 registered vendors, making it as Rockland County’s largest senior fair to date. Government agencies, healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations, and local businesses came together to provide seniors with information, assistance, and access to a wide variety of services.
Attendees had access to numerous free health services, including blood pressure and diabetes screenings, memory tests, liver screenings, flu shots, and RSV and pneumonia vaccines. The fair also featured DMV mobile services, assistance with locating unclaimed funds, multilingual interpreters, and representatives from organizations offering programs and resources for older residents.
The gathering also brought together local elected officials, community leaders, askanim, and members of law enforcement, providing an opportunity to connect with seniors and discuss the needs of Rockland County’s growing senior population.
The event included a complimentary lunch, with kosher options available, while the Rockland YMCA and the Town of Clarkstown provided golf cart shuttle services from the parking areas to help attendees reach the fieldhouse.
