Scammers Reported Posing as Water Company Employees

By Y.M. Lowy

Several Rockland residents have reported visits from individuals claiming to be representatives of Veolia who ask to enter homes to collect water samples. These individuals are not employees of Veolia.

Customers are advised to remain aware, as scammers sometimes impersonate utility workers to gain access to property or obtain personal information. To identify a legitimate Veolia employee, residents should look for a Veolia hard hat, a clearly marked Veolia truck, and an official photo identification card.

If there is any doubt about the identity of a visitor, residents should contact Veolia’s Customer Service team to verify.
