Rockland Responds: New Hempstead Mayor Sicker Responds to Request for More Lighting on Union Road

Dear Mayor Sicker, 

I wonder what can be done about the lighting situation on Union Road between Brockton and Viola Road. It is pitch dark at night and a great danger to walk there during regular circumstances, but during the last snowfall that left patches of ice and snow all along the narrow path, there was no choice for a pedestrian other than walking in the street in the dark an even bigger challenge when I had small children with me.

 This is a tragedy waiting to happen, chas shalom. Please, please, do something about putting up streetlights there, shoveling the snow on the narrow asphalt path, and getting sidewalks put in as well.
