Detectives Crime Clinic Metropolitan New Jersey and New York, a New Jersey non-profit corporation, presented Public Information Officer Scott Waters, Rockland County District Attorney's Office, with an award.

The primary function of the Crime Clinic is to recognize worthy police officers, public officials, and citizens who have shown outstanding performance in preventing crime, apprehension, and prosecution of criminals.

The reward was presented for Waters "ability, courage, and understanding," earning the veteran photographer the respect and admiration of his colleagues in the law-enforcement profession.

The award was presented Thursday afternoon at an awards luncheon in the Bronx.

"Today was a special day," Waters shares with Rockland Daily. "It was an honor to receive the Outstanding Law Enforcement Professional Support Staff Award from the NY/NJ Detectives Crime Clinic. Serving as the Public Information Officer (Communications Director) for the Rockland County District Attorney’s for the last three years has provided me a front-row seat to law enforcement in Rockland County. I can tell you that in Rockland we have some incredible men and women who work tirelessly to keep our community safe."

Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco was also honored as an Outstanding Law Enforcement Executive. Other Rockland Law enforcement awardees included Ramapo Police Department Sergeants William Carbone and Sean Lee and Rockland County District Attorney Office Group Supervisor Detective Bernard Brown. Three additional officers from the Ramapo Police Department, two from the Clarkstown Police Department, and one from the Orangetown Police Department were also honored. Rockland County Police Academy Program Assistant Amanda Carey was honored as well.

Waters also received recognition from the Detectives Endowment of NYC, who presented him with a certificate of appreciation "in grateful, recognition, and sincere appreciation for your tiring and selfless efforts, put forth on behalf of the Detectives Endowment Association Inc."
