Two members of Rockland County’s Emergency Management Division participated in the New York State Department of Homeland Security’s Disaster Preparedness Commission Conference last week, joining emergency professionals from across the country.
This year’s conference placed a strong focus on large-gathering preparedness, with experts sharing real-world case studies and strategies for improving public safety during major events. Attendees heard from speakers representing multiple states and emergency management disciplines.
Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services emphasized that ongoing training is a key part of ensuring the county is equipped to handle emergencies of all types. The department noted that continuous learning and preparedness efforts help strengthen response capabilities and enhance community safety.
